We are actively looking for Foreign Language and ESL instructors. Various teaching schedules are available.

Minimum Requirements:

• Native fluency in your target language

• A Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree, preferably in languages, linguistics, or education

• Three years teaching experience

• Understanding of teaching methodology

• Understanding of the Interagency Roundtable Scale

• Techincal expertise necessary to utilize training tools

• ILR level 2 English ability

Minimum requirements for linguists:

• 5 years of professional translation, interpretation, teaching, or project management experience in the language services industry

• A Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree from a recognized institution of higher learning

• Native fluency in your target language

In addition to the minimum requirements, the following are highly recommended for translators:

• Translation Memory software (Trados, WordFast, Deja Vu, etc.)

• Accreditation or certification in your target language(s)

We are actively recruiting native speakers of the following languages: French, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Portuguese, and Russian, to provide distance learning and mentoring services.

Courses will require candidates to possess the following:

• Documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.

• Native language proficiency: candidates must be educated native speakers of the language with a superior speaking and reading proficiency in the language.

• Must possess at least three years of formal teaching and/or tutoring experience in the target language, preferably to adult learners.

• Familiarity with the culture(s) where the native language is spoken and with issues relevant to diplomatic missions in those regions.

• Must be local to the DC area and be available to attend weekly meetings with the client in McLean, VA.

• Technical proficiency with ability to use voice and video software (Skype, Adobe Connect, etc.) as well as the Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and MS Word.

• Ability to keep copious class session notes and meticulous student records.

• Full time, 8 hours per day for the duration of the course.

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in the target language or education preferred.

The ideal candidate will be energetic and customer-service oriented. Must have a high degree of integrity and be able to pass extensive background checks and language testing (reading and speaking proficiency) in English and the target language.
